The deal is a five-year, 26.25 Million dollar contract. This works out to an annual cap hit of $5.25M
Despite winning the Stanley Cup with Colorado back in June, his playoff performance was not that impressive. However, don't overlook the fact that he has been a very consistent goaltender since becoming a starter for Arizona back in 2018-19.
Kuemper was 37-12-4 with a .921 save percentage and 2.54 GAA this past regular season with the Avalanche.
At 6'5", Kuemper stands tall and has proven himself to be a top-tier goaltender in the NHL.
Was this a good signing by the Washington Capitals?
