While early indications had pointed toward Tatar signing with the New York Islanders, we now know this will no longer be the case.
Tomas Tatar will be heading out West to join a powerhouse squad that will be looking for yet another Stanley Cup.
Tatar to Colorado
On Tuesday morning, Tatar signed a 1 year, $1.5 Million contract with the Colorado Avalanche, as confirmed by the team on X (Formerly Twitter).
This is a great signing for Colorado to acquire another 20-goal scorer who will bolster their bottom-six depth. Tatar, at 32-years-old, still may have some good years ahead of him as he looks for a new start in the Western Conference.
He is coming off a strong regular season which saw him put up 20 goals, 28 assists (48 points) in 82 games.
In his career, Tatar has only spent one season (2017-18) in the Western Conference when he was briefly a member of the Vegas Golden Knights.
