Stanley Cup winning veteran is leaving the NHL for the KHL



Following nine seasons in the NHL, Cedric Paquette has decided to leave the NHL for the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) in Russia.

The 29-year-old has played for several teams in the NHL. Most notably with Tampa Bay where he won the 2019-20 Stanley Cup during the COVID-19 shortened season.


He then went on to play for Ottawa, Carolina and finally Montreal.


Cedric was then sent down to the Montreal Canadiens AHL affiliate Laval Rocket which was where he has decided to step away from the NHL.

Paquette was drafted 101st overall back in 2012 by the Lightning.


He became known as the guy who enjoyed eating his Shrimp out of the Stanley Cup.
