The former Columbus Blue Jackets captain may just be one of the most underrated players of all time.

Scoring 437 goals in 1060 career games, he puts himself in some impressive company among elite NHL goal scorers.

However, the three-time 40-goal scoring winger has also done the unthinkable in his career, setting an NHL record as the only player to record a hattrick where all three goals are unassisted.

It almost sounds impossible, and it is an NHL record that may not be matched for a very long time, if ever.

In todays NHL, hat-tricks are already fairly uncommon with 102 being recorded in 1312 total games.

Following 16 impressive seasons in the NHL between the Blue Jackets, Rangers and Bruins, Nash hung up his skates back in 2017-18.

Nash had his number 61 officially retired last season by the Blue Jackets following 9 impressive seasons with the franchise, leading the team in virtually all goal-scoring categories in the franchises short history.
