Will this be Dubas final year in Toronto?
Article begins below
It's been 18 years with zero playoff series wins, with 6 different General Managers during that time.
After four consecutive years of first-round playoff exits, Dubas role as GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs may be in jeopardy.
Jonas Seigel of The Athletic recently reported that there have been zero conversations between the Maple Leafs and Kyle Dubas about extending his contract.
"The team that Dubas put together last regular season was — by far — the best in franchise history. The 2021-22 Leafs piled up 115 points — 10 points more than the previous franchise record-holder from the 2017-18 season. That team lost in the first round of the playoffs again, but by a goal in Game 7 to the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions".
"Dubas' last two regular-season teams rank first and second in franchise history by points percentage".
This just may be his last opportunity to prove himself that he belongs at the helm of this organization, as the Leafs window for winning the Stanley Cup remains open.
