Tyler Bertuzzi, the only unvaccinated player in the NHL, has just been placed in COVID-19 protocol as confirmed by the team on twitter earlier this evening.
Bertuzzi was currently facing restrictions on games against Canadian opponents as he was unable to enter Canada due to his vaccination status.
the 26-year-old is having a phenomenal season for Detroit so far, with 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) in 20 games and is among the team leaders in points.
Nothing has been confirmed yet if Bertuzzi tested positive, or he has been exposed to someone who tested positive, the rest of the information will come soon.
We wish nothing but the best for the health of Tyler.
