Updated: Nov 25, 2021

Rangers fans everywhere can officially sigh of relief as Zibanejad rejoins the team when they play the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night. He initially tested positive for COVID-19 but has since been confirmed as a false positive.

The team announced on Twitter Saturday evening. He had been placed in COVID protocol earlier on Saturday morning.

The 33-year-old forward has 4 goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 17 games this season and is one of the most dynamic forwards for the New York Rangers.

Zibanejad had recently signed an 8-year contract extension in early October, worth an average of $8.5 Million annually.

For the health and safety of the leagues players, im glad to hear Zibanejad is not positive for COVID and hopefully the rest of the players in the league can continue to stay healthy.

Ottawa had just recently activated 8 players from COVID protocol earlier today and the Senators are looking to return to action against Colorado on Monday night.
