The Edmonton Oilers backup goaltender spoke to the media during a postgame interview following their game against the Canucks on Saturday night.
You can listen to his post-game interview below.
Despite being 0-2-0 to start this season, Skinner remains optimistic about the Oilers, and feels confident between the pipes.
"I actually feel really good. I thought both games when I went in for soupy (Campbell) I thought I played a really good game. Really good goals that were scored on me, same with tonight." Said Skinner. "I definitely want to look back on that fourth one. I'm not really too sure what happened. Something that I can look at and change".
"Besides that the other three, pretty good goals. My game, I feel like i'm in a really good spot".
>> Skinner was then asked about how he felt about his teams defensive play. <<
"Obviously there's things to get better at, I can help with that as well. I think collectively we've got to get together and just work on those things".
"Offensively you can tell we're incredible. It was a really good game, but DeSmith there, he played fantastic, you gotta give credit where credit's due".
>> He was then asked about how the team's feeling about itself. <<
"I think theres a bit of frustration. Obviously you want to start 2-0 not 0-2, but in my opinion adversity never kills you, it makes you a lot stronger, and for us to face it early on may be a good thing for the long term".
In 2 games with the Oilers, Skinner has a .750 SV% and a 5.33 GAA after allowing 8 goals on 32 shots.
This is definitely not the start the Oilers were hoping for, but there is reason to remain optimistic and the team can only build up from here.
