All four excluded teams share one thing in common. They are all Canadian.

The Flames, Canadiens, Senators and Jets have been left behind, and will not be playing any Nationally televised games in the United States this upcoming season.

These are all games exclusively airing on TNT/TBS, ESPN/ABC and HULU/ESPN+.

The Arizona Coyotes will have one game on National Television, while only three Canadian franchises will be receiving national air time. The Canucks (2), Maple Leafs (11) and Oilers (18).

Edmonton having the most National broadcasts out of all teams in the league is unsurprising due to Connor McDavid's appeal to the broad audiences in the United States. People will be tuning in from all corners of the country to watch the greatest hockey player on the planet.

Fans of the four excluded teams have taken to X (Formerly Twitter) to share their displeasure with the league's decision to exclude their team from nationwide exposure.

I was surprised to not see the Senators get some international exposure. They have an exciting young team full of talented players, and are looking to make a run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season. Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris are some big name players around the league.

The Montreal Canadiens, one of the most treasured teams in pro sports history with 24 championships and young elite firepower in Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, have also been snubbed of a National Broadcast. This was also surprising as they're an exciting young team with potential to do some damage in the Atlantic division this season.

Which of the four excluded teams most deserves a national broadcast

  • Ottawa Senators

  • Calgary Flames

  • Winnipeg Jets

  • Montreal Canadiens
