Several teams showing interest in Vladimir Tarasenko

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

The 31-year-old Tarasenko is still producing at a high level, his 7 points in his past 5 games give him a total of 29 points in 34 games on the year.

His last game was on December 31 against the Minnesota Wild, where he sustained a grueling hand injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for the entire month of January, maybe longer.

According to Puck Empire, there are four teams currently interested in landing the superstar. Those teams are the New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames and New Jersey Devils.

Tarasenko is in the final year of an 8-year, $60,000,000 ($8M AAV) contract which was signed prior to the 2015-16 season.

The Blues currently sit 4 points out of a playoff spot, while facing a lingering injury bug. Their only opportunity to make a push for the playoffs this year will be to move Tarasenko.

During the 2021-22 campaign, Tarasenko set a career high in points with 34 goals and 82 points in 75 games.

While he may never reach these heights again, Tarasenko will still be a valuable player to any teams top-6 lineup. With a Stanley cup around his belt, he will provide playoff experience to any team willing to take him on.
