Just when things couldn't possibly look worse for them, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that two key players will be missing significant time due to injuries.
The first player announced was Brendan Gallagher, who will be sidelined at least two weeks with a lower-body injury.
The second key injury is young defenseman Kaiden Guhle, who will be out for a minimum of eight weeks with a lower-body injury.
However, there are multiple key players who will be making their return to the lineup soon.

The Canadiens announced that Mike Matheson (D) and Sean Monahan (F) have returned to the ice to practice with the team, however, they are both still two weeks away from making their full return.
Monahan has been a key contributor to this Canadiens offense, and has 6 goals and 17 points in 25 games, his best production since the 2018-19 season.
Matheson has been solid in his first season on the Canadiens defense, with 1 goal and 6 points in 10 games thus far.
The Canadiens currently sit 8th in the Atlantic division with a 15-21-3 record, and 27th in the overall standings.
