Today, the Maple Leafs announced that John Tavares is out with an upper-body injury.
The injury has recently been confirmed to be an Oblique Strain, meaning the Leafs captain will be out for a minimum of three weeks.
Tavares, at minimum, will miss the first few weeks of the regular season.
It's unclear when Tavares was injured. He skated 17:14 and had one shot on goal in a pre-season game against the Senators on Saturday.
The Maple Leafs are dealing with a list of injuries one week into training camp, including Pierre Engvall (foot), Adam Gaudette (shoulder), Timothy Liljegren (hernia) and Jake Muzzin (back) all missing some time early on.
