REPORT: Kirby Dach’s season is likely over

The Montreal Canadiens may be without one of their best players for the remainder of the season.

It is currently feared that Dach suffered a torn ACL & torn MCL during Saturday nights game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The severity of this injury is expected to keep the forward sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old collided with former Canadien Jarred Tinordi late in the first period of Montreal's 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks (watch below).

This is a devastating blow to the Canadiens who hope to return to the playoffs this season.

The Dach injury leaves a major hole down the middle of the Canadiens offense.

Dach will undergo further testing to officially determine the severity of his injuries.

The Dach-less Canadiens return to action on Wednesday night, when they face off against Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild.

Alex Newhook will take Dach's position centering the second line.
