Golden Knights tie 40-year NHL record Thursday

With a win over Winnipeg on Thursday night, the Golden Knights have come one step closer to making history. They have now tied an All-Time record, set by the Oilers in 1985-86.

On Thursday night, Vegas defeated the Jets 5-3, and remain undefeated one full week into the season.

The Golden Knights are now the second team in league history to start a season 5-0 following a Stanley Cup victory, matching the 1985-86 Oilers.

If they win on Saturday night against the Blackhawks, they will look to overtake the Oilers for sole possession of the longest win-streak following a Stanley Cup victory.
