All teams were forbidden to play during the leagues three-day break, and now the Leafs will pay a hefty fine due to breaking this rule.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been fined $100k USD by the league for travelling on December 26th, as reported by NHL Public Relations.
The rules state that December 24, Christmas Day and December 26th are day's off for all purposes, including travel, and no club may request a player's consent to practice on these days for any reason.

Toronto was supposed to travel to St. Louis on the 27th just after midnight EST.
The Leafs went on to defeat the Blues 5-4 in Overtime.
Their road trip continues into Arizona when they face the Coyotes at Mullett arena on Thursday night.
