Elvis Merzlikins has requested a trade out of Columbus





Rumors have been circulating about a big trade involving Merzlikins for some time now, and on Monday afternoon, he has officially requested a trade out of Columbus, Coby Maeir reports.







A lot has happened for the Blue Jackets organization on Sunday. Columbus came out victorious over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday afternoon in a thrilling shootout victory. And now, Elvis Merzlikins requested a trade from his team during the postgame interview.






"I'm mad and i'm pulling the monster out of me" said Merzlikins following his teams victory.


This was Elvis first start between the pipes since December 29. He made 27 saves out of 30 to help his team come out on top.


in 24 games with the Blue Jackets, Elvis has a .906 SV% and 3.22 GAA.


Currently, several teams are looking at acquiring a starting goaltender, including Edmonton, Toronto and Carolina. He will instantly improve the goaltending situation for whichever team he lands on.
