Carey Price out indefinitely, restarting Knee Rehab following doctor's meeting

Bad news for Montreal Canadiens fans..

Long-time goaltender Carey Price will be restarting his leg rehabilitation process following a meeting with his doctor.

There is now no time-table for his return-to-play.

The decision to restart rehab came after Price met with the doctor who performed his knee surgery, who determined the move was necessary because Price was unable to continue working on his knee during the team's Christmas break and extended COVID-19 pause.

Price, 34, had knee surgery in July, weeks after helping the Montreal Canadiens reach the Stanley Cup Final during the COVID-19 shortened NHL season.

His knee recovery was delayed back in October when he entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, but he rejoined the team in November and has been working on getting back into shape for his expected return-to-play.

Head coach Dominique Ducharne does not expect this to be a setback for Price.
