Updated: Sep 10, 2023

Just days after Bruce Boudreau announced his pick for the next Canucks captain, Canucks media members have gotten together to discuss their picks for who they believe should become the next leader of the franchise.

With training camp getting underway in the next few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation over who the next captain of the Vancouver Canucks should be.

Vancouver has been without a captain since January 30, 2023, when the Canucks made a shocking trade with the New York Islanders which sent Bo Horvat packing for Long Island for Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty and a conditional first-round pick in the 2023 NHL draft.

According to Canucks media, there are three potential candidates for who will become the next captain. Quinn Hughes, J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson.

Donnie and Dhali, notable Canucks media members, have recently shared their picks for who should become the next captain (Listen Below).

"People keep telling me that Quinn Hughes will be the next captain of the Vancover Canucks... time will tell" Dhali said

"My guy is JT Miller. I love his passion. JT MIller plays the right way with his passion and enthusiasm and he's here for another seven years"

"He hates to lose, I don't care if he had a couple instances where he showed bad body language. JT Miller for me is a warrior and I think he should be the captain."
