Fastest defenseman to hit 200 Assists

Makar could surpass Quinn Hughes as the fastest defenseman in NHL history to record 200 career Assists.

To achieve this, he would need 19 Assists in 16 games. Something that should not be out of reach for the former Norris Trophy winner.

Makar chasing Avs history

With 246 career points, Makar needs just 13 points to surpass Adam Foote (259) for the third most by a defenseman in Avalanche and Nordiques history.

Another 61-point-season will see him tie Tyson Barrie (307) for the Franchise record.

As impressive as this is, it's not the only record Makar is chasing this year (Read Below).

Re-writing History

When its all said and done, Makar will likely shatter most defensive records not just for the Avalanche, but also in the NHL.

Makar became the fastest defenseman in NHL history to reach the 200-point plateau. Doing so in just 195 games.

For Avalanche All-Time records, Makar became the highest Single Season scoring defenseman in team history, when he scored his 24th goal of the season. He would go on to score 28 goals that year.

His current 1.033 Points/Game places him third All-Time, behind Bobby Orr (1.393) and Paul Coffey (1.087).
