This morning the Detroit Red Wings announced the signing of coveted forward Filip Zadina to a three-year contract.
The contract has an AAV of $1.825M, which comes to $5.475M over the length of the three-year term.
This is not only a great deal for the Red Wings but also for the 22-year-old Zadina, as the young stud still has much to prove in this league that has no lack of talent.
Zadina had a career-high 10 goals and 24 points in 74 games with Mo-City last season, however, he hasn't quite lived up to his hype or potential for a top-10 draft pick in the NHL.

Below is a clip of Zadina scoring his first NHL goal back in 2018-19.
Filip has 25 goals and 61 points in 160 games over his four-year career thus far.
Zadina was selected by Detroit 6th-overall in the 2018 NHL draft.
Will this contract pay off for Detroit in the long-run? Only time will tell.
