Calgary Flames part ways with GM Brad Treliving

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

Today, the Calgary Flames mutually agreed to part ways with GM Brad Treliving, as announced by the team.

Immediately, Don Maloney has been promoted to President of the club and will hold the position of Interim General Manager.

The Calgary Flames failed to make the postseason this year after an embarrassing shootout defeat to the Nashville Predators last week.

They finished fifth in the Pacific Division with a 38-27-17 record, and 93 points. The difference maker being their consistent inability to win games that go to extra time. If they had came out victorious in a few of those games, things would be looking much different for the club here in April.

Treliving took over as General Manager of the club during the 2014-15 season, following multiple seasons as the GM of AHL Affiliate club the Portland Pirates, and Assistant GM of the Arizona Coyotes.
