On Thursday, the Lightning announced that their superstar goaltender Vasilevskiy has been ruled out with a long-term injury.
Andrei Vasilevskiy underwent successful back surgery which will leave him out of the Tampa Bay line-up until Late November - Mid December.
This shocking news comes with the NHL season just two-weeks away.
General manager Julien BriseBois said Vasilevskiy had a successful microdiscectomy to address a lumbar disk herniation. This could leave arguably the best goaltender in the world sidelined for at least 25 games.
We wish Vasilevskiy a speedy recovery.
